Waits (in) Love

In Biographies, newspaper articles and other sources on Tom Waits there is a continuing mention of Tom Waits marriage to a Kathleen Brennan in the town of Tralee in the late 1970’s. The wedding was a pivotal point in Waits career as he openly acknowledges in many different interviews. Waits wife Kathleen Breenan is seen as been a huge influence on him, in regards musically and personally. He stopped abusing drink, started a family and ventured bravely into brand new avenues with his music.

Yet when director Dermott Petty,  began to gather evidence in Tralee with regard to the marriage he came up completely blank. There simply appeared to be no official documentation or record of any wedding taking place between a Tom Waits and a Kathleen Breenan in Tralee in 1979!
